School Sisters of St. Francis in El Paso celebrate jubilees

Two School Sisters of St. Francis serving in El Paso celebrated milestone anniversaries of service as women religious in June.
Sister Joan McCoy, who has been a volunteer at Casa Alexia in El Paso since 2004, celebrated 60 years as a School Sister of St. Francis. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, she has a bachelor's degree from Alverno College.
Sister Kathleen Braun celebrated 50 years as a School Sister of St. Francis. She was born in Aurora, Ill., and has a bachelor's degree from Alverno College and a master's degree from Loyola University. In the Diocese of El Paso, Sister served as a medical technician at Centro de Salud Familiar, pastoral minister at St. Teresa of Jesus in Presidio, at Casa Alexia in El Paso, and as chaplain at Bienvivir Senior Health Services.
