Scott Hahn to address Marian Congress Oct. 4

The Apostolate of Our Lady of Guadalupe will hold a Marian Congress Oct. 4 in El Paso Convention Center.
Theme of the congress is "Am I Not Here, Who Am Your Mother," said Jorge Weissinger, apostolate spokesman.
Scott Hahn, founder, president and chairman of St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, will be keynote speaker for the congress.
Bishop Ricardo Ramirez of Las Cruces, Bishop Gerardo de Jesus Rojas of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Msgr. Diego Monroy Ponce, abbot of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, and Daniel Lynch, director for the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, will take part in the day-long congress.

The focus of the congress will be to enrich participants' understanding of the Catholic Church's devotion to the Blessed Mother, Weissinger said.
An author and teacher, Hahn is a professor of scripture at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, and was appointed to the Pope Benedict XVI chair of Biblical Theology at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Penn. He is one of the general editors of the Ignatius Study Bible, and is author and editor of more than 20 books.
The Apostolate of Our Lady of Guadalupe was founded in El Paso in the 1950s by then Bishop Sidney M. Metzger to foster deeper devotion to the Blessed Mother.
