Church workers invited to Mass of Appreciation

All employees of parishes, schools and related Church entities have been invited to the Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord Mass of Appreciation.

Bishop Armando X. Ochoa will offer the Mass at 5 p.m., Sept. 5, at Guardian Angel Parish.

The Mass is sponsored by Bishop Ochoa, Father John Stowe, OFM Conv., moderator of the curia, and the employees of the Diocesan Pastoral Center.

A reception in the new Guardian Angel Parish Gymnasium will follow the Mass.
In his column in this month's Rio Grande Catholic, Bishop Ochoa acknowledged "the giftedness that our Diocesan Family employees bring to the workplace."

The diocese "is blessed with the gifts and talents of people from many different cultures," he said.

"They too contribute their experiences, hopes and dreams to the life in our Border Region," he said, "It is my prayer that we all can continue in the spirit of 'Ecclesia in America' to  'twin' our parish, vicariate and diocesan resources so that our time, talent and treasure can be shared across parish boundaries."
