Karina Sandoval, Stewardship coordinator for the Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso invited the Catholic community to draw God during the Stay-at-Home order. This invitation was made through the Foundation social media and was extended to El Paso Catholic school students. Sandoval was inspired from the children’s book Drawing God by author Karen Kiefer, Director of the Church in the 21 Century at Boston College. The author decided to create the Drawing God book after she overheard two kids in the grocery store, one said to the other: “My mother said you shouldn’t talk about God in school because it makes people feel uncomfortable”. For that reason, she created a book where children are able to freely express what God means to them. Sandoval received throughout the month of April 2020 beautiful drawings of God from El Paso’ Catholic school students, which they will also receive a signed book by the author, a promotional kit and the opportunity to display their drawings in the virtual museum of Drawing God in Boston. The Foundation is open to receive more drawings of God during the Stay-at Home order. Let your inner Picasso grow during this times and draw what God means to you! For more information please contact Karina Sandoval, Stewardship Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Stewardship office invites the Catholic community to draw God this Lent and share your drawings with the Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso. Our Stewardship Coordinator, Karina Sandoval was inspired by the book of Drawing God by Karen Kiefer, Director from The Church in the 21st Century Center from Boston College. The author’s goal is to inspire more people to think and talk about how and where people see God. Kiefer overheard a conversation in the grocery store when two young boys told his father not to talk about God with people because it makes people feel uncomfortable. The author prayed and ask God how she can help more people talk about God and the book came alive. The book’s main target is for children, therefore the book can be used by anyone, who would like to express their faith through imagination. Our Stewardship Coordinator, invites the Catholic community to use your talents, to ask your children, grandchildren or religious formation participants to draw God and share the pictures with the Foundation. Pictures will be shown in our Foundation Facebook page and website. Now, show us your inner Picasso! Submit your drawings to: email@example.com.
